Handsome Fellows Hail from Thailand?

I am wondering of these two are Korats? The breed. They live a few blocks from me and I have most likely featured one or the other of them here before. I am learning such wonderful things about cats in Cat Sense, including that I may have felt guilty about my Stella's retiring and somewhat wildcat behavior for years for no reason.

On a completely different topic, my beloved yoga teacher has moved to Michigan but has her online yoga classes up and operational. Check it out!

I'm going to Salem today to hang out with Jack and Leo and eat vegetable strata. This is a very good thing because if I stayed home I would feel compelled to work. Which is not a good thing. :)

Fitness Age? Interesting...

Foggy winter skies even though it is technically still fall out there.

My link today is to the new "fitness age" calculator based on international studies. You need to know your waist size in centimeters and your resting heart rate.

How Old is Your Health?

I have a fitness age of 38! Sweet.

Even though I seriously could not do all the poses on the new Pure Barre DVD I tried for the first time yesterday. :)

Local Foliage

Have I mentioned the light. I feel like I have been in this paradise of low glorious light the last few days when the fog burns off. It lights the trees from underneath and it seems as if they are glowing. This is not some fancy fall foliage tour shot. This is the street in front of my place late this afternoon.

If you know someone who is interested in cats, particularly the ones we live with, here is an interview with John Bradshaw about his new book called Cat Sense. I have the Kindle version and promised my cat sitter I'd buy the hardcover version so we can share the book among us.

We spoiled the heck out of Sammy this afternoon and gave him fluids while he was sitting on my lap on the poofy chair.

Long Suffering Sam Sam

So I am at the Oregon coast. Sammy, however, is home dealing with a mouse inquisition. Poor guy.

Our amazing cat sitter is having a party with him every time she visits. She just texted this to me.

Awww.

An Extra Day Away

Oh poor me, here in Pacific City for our semi annual get away. The owners of the house we stay in replaced the big double paned windows, umm, today. It is fabulous as I took this from inside all warm and eating dinner like. :)

My link is this to this marvelous poem about fire in a new feature where the New York Times pairs a poem with a news article. The poem is by Alberto RĂos.  I do encourage you to take a minute to read it.

Perfection

A couple of days ago running home to my place from a work meeting I saw this leaf perfectly lit on the ground by the outside door. Dashed in, grabbed my camera, took this shot and then promptly forgot about it.

I haven't had time to clear the shots on my camera until tonight.

Such a glorious sunny day here all day. A treat after all that rain and cold and did I say rain???

Mt. Hood is gorgeous in her new layer of snow.

Light, Glorious Light

The worst of the storms have apparently passed for now and we are having this brief interlude of gorgeous fall light.

I teach my noon class in a conference room with floor to ceiling windows and we had a downpour while everyone was attempting Half Lord of the Fishes (a pose chosen because of the water theme here after a record breaking month of rain) and then as my students settled into Savasana the sun broke through and there was light.

It is such a gift to be able to teach and watch folks transform and calm their energies.
